Sharon Parents & Teachers for Less Testing, More Learning won the support of their School Committee for a resolution against tying teacher evaluation to student test scores. It’s posted on the CPS here. Ask your School Committee to pass a similar resolution! The state Board of Elementary and Secondary Education has scheduled a vote on this issue Feb. 28.
Your support means CPS can continue fighting for public schools by
* advocating for fully funding the Student Opportunity Act, and by advocating for increased state support for our public colleges; and, to support increasing state revenues to ensure school funding.
* organizing to press state policy makers to cancel the high-stakes MCAS and shift to better forms of assessment.
* and educating policy makers and the public about the very real threat of charter schools, vouchers, tax credits and other privatization schemes.
